Early Writing
Peter began writing at the age of fifteen and has continued writing ever since. Writing has been a constant across the whole of his working life, running alongside the kitchens he worked in and the classrooms he taught in.

Peter Weiss was born in New York and lived a good part of his life there. He worked for more than twenty years in kitchens and taught English Language Arts for thirty-three years on both the college and high school levels. He began writing when he was fifteen and has been writing ever since. He currently lives in Massachusetts.

His fiction is drawn from that long attention to language and to people — stories concerned with human complexity, personal vulnerability, difficult choices, and the worlds people keep out of view. He was born in New York, lived a good part of his life there, and currently lives in Massachusetts.
